One of the most popular lightweight canoes in our range, the Nova Craft Bob Special is a well suited canoe for solo tripping and casual tandem paddling. Most at home on slow-moving waters, inland lakes and sheltered estuaries, the Bob is an incredibly capable canoe. On short day trips, paddled tandem the Bob is a fast and stable canoe, however still has sufficient room to load up and push out for longer paddles. For paddlers looking for a touring canoe which is easy to use solo, and will excel at covering distance, but not limit them to just going out alone, the Bob is a fantastic choice.

With a wide beam and shallow arch hull, the Bob Special has a forgiving hull shape with excellent stability, but can be pushed and will paddle with ease on edge. The long waterline, low sides and minimal rocker all result in a superb touring canoe, with good straight-line tracking and performance, able to cover a good distance with relatively low effort while maintaining a good speed.

Made from Nova Craft's extraordinary TuffStuff material the Bob Special is an incredibly lightweight canoe, weighing in just over 20kg (in standard TuffStuff), which when considering that it is 15ft long is impressive, (and makes for an easy canoe to load onto a vehicle). TuffStuff is a composite material of basalt and Innegra fibres, woven together into a cloth and infused with high impact vinylester resin. This is finished with a glossy gel coat and leaves the Bob looking stunning. Also, available in TuffStuff Expedition, this will offer additional stiffness, durability and improved performance.

Finished with built-in buoyancy tanks at both bow and stern, the Bob Special should stay afloat in the event of an unplanned exit from the boat. As with all Nova Craft canoes, it is outfitted with varnished wood throughout including two bootlace seats, an expertly designed yoke shaped for comfort when carrying the canoe on your shoulders, and comfortable carry handles at either end.

All round, the Bob Special is a fantastic touring canoe, stable enough to be reassuring for novice paddlers to get out on the water, yet experts can savour pushing the limits in it. Regardless of skill and experience, the Bob represents a brilliant boat for touring around the UK.
