One of our best-selling canoes, the Bob Special from Novacraft is available in fibreglass construction.

The Nova Craft Bob Special is popular for solo paddling due to its wide beam, solid stability and minimal rocker. This shape gives it great control and straight-line performance, even when laden with one or two paddlers. Preferring slow moving rivers, sheltered estuaries or inland paddling – the Bob Special is very capable and can even be quick when paddled tandem. The Bobs surprising capacity gives space for overnight trips or short expeditions when solo. The long waterline, low sides and minimal rocker all result in a superb touring canoe, with good straight-line tracking and performance, able to cover a good distance with relatively low effort while maintaining a good speed.

Nova Craft offer a fibreglass construction which is known for its durability but is still lighter than SP3 (Plastic) equivalents. Using a woven fibreglass cloth and resin, making a lightweight but surprisingly durable canoe. Fibreglass is perfect for deep water trips and gentle river paddling, for those looking for a lightweight but more affordable option than other lightweight canoes on the market.

Finished with built-in buoyancy tanks at both bow and stern, the Bob Special should stay afloat in the event of an unplanned exit from the boat. As with all Nova Craft canoes, it is outfitted with varnished wood throughout including two bootlace seats, an expertly designed yoke shaped for comfort when carrying the canoe on your shoulders, and comfortable carry handles at either end.
