With a growing trend of Pack boats spreading across North America, we are proud to offer the Swift Canoes Pack range here in the UK. The Swift Pack 12.6, the smallest and lightest Pack Boat in the Swift range is at its core a canoe shape, however rather than being finished with traditional webbed seats for kneeling or sitting, Pack boats are fitted with a specifically designed sitting kayak seat.

The Pack 12.6 is a brilliant boat is finished with beautiful attention to detail, as seen in all Swift Canoes. The seating system base is constructed of an incredibly strong carbon composite seat, covered in comfortable padding with adjustable lumbar support and a tilt adjustment for the rear of the seat, allowing for smooth movement on each paddle stroke. As standard, the Pack 12.6 is also outfitted with two thwarts, to increase the canoe's strength and rigidity. Cherrywood carry-handles feature at the bow and stern for effortless carrying off the water. The Pack 12.6 is also fitted with adjustable kayak style foot pegs as standard. Swift Canoes have a range of excellent lightweight materials and top-quality trims options, the Kevlar Fusion material is the most popular. Offering exceptional strength to weight ratio, the Kevlar Fusion is based off an urethane resin system for top durability and longevity, along with a thin layer of exterior gel coat. Constructed of an exterior layer of polyester as well as S-Glass and kevlar cloth layers sandwiching a durable foam cored ribbing system. The laminate fused together with a high impact and flexible urethane acrylate resin system injected during the high pressure infusion process produces an optimal dispersion and laminate consistency. Based on a laminate material construction, Kevlar Fusion is a popular material as it offers great abrasion and impact resistance. The Carbon Kevlar gunwales are fused to the hull itself for a lighter finish and more impressive technology applied.

It is an extremely ultra-lightweight day paddling boat, weighing under 11kg (10.8kgs), perfect for users looking to enjoy time out on the water with very little worries about how to transport the canoe with it being so light.

Why choose a Pack Boat?

Pack boats are somewhere between a traditional canoe and a kayak. With no top deck, there is less material required to build a Pack boat than a conventional kayak, this keeps the weight down. Easy to enter and exit than a traditional closed cockpit kayak, suited better for those who do want the efficiency of kayaking but don’t want to feel “trapped” inside the boat. There is also a low seated position which increases the stability with a nice balance between low centre of gravity. The use of a double ended kayak paddle is more efficient than the single bladed canoe paddle, particularly in windy conditions.
