Hobie have released a brand new kayak model for 2018…. the Hobie Mirage Compass, and it looks great! The Compass combines aspects from the popular Revolution and Pro Angler hull designs, with a simplified deck outfitting for great performance at a great price. Well equipped with features, the Compass will certainly be popular with kayak fisherman and those wanting an all-round pedal kayak for touring. The Feelfree Lure 13.5 is a longer, extremely stable and more efficient version of the renowned Lure 11.5. This big brother to the Lure 11.5 combines an extensive list of angling features with a kayak that is capable of handling bigger water. September proved to be a difficult month to get out on the water. Whenever we had a day off from working in the shop, the wind seemed to be blowing too much to get out for a session. In Cornwall we are very much at the mercy of the prevailing Atlantic weather systems and can often go weeks and weeks without being able to get out on the water….frustrating! A break in the persistent winds finally came along although there was still a good amount of swell hitting the coast.
It would be our first proper session for July and it turned out to be a memorable one at that! Liam had recently taken delivery of his new Rytmo Angler (A fresh new fishing kayak from none other than RTM!) and Andrew had recently fitted his new Raymarine Dragonfly 6 to the trusty Feelfree Moken 12.5.
A quick look at the weather forecast presented us with the perfect conditions to finally hit an offshore wreck in the hope of some big Conger eel…
