Description
The Palm Chinook Womens takes the fantastic build quality of the ever-popular Palm Chinook into a ladies specific cut and size chart. Made of a mid-weight fabric, XP2.5-Layer, the Chinook Womens is well suited for use all year round and will tackle the adverse conditions which touring kayaking occasionally leads us to face; wind, rain, spray etc.
Featuring a large front pocket, with two YKK Aquaguard zippers and a fleece lining the Chinook has ample storage room for keys, cards and phones (although worth using a dry bag as it is not a waterproof pocket). Pre-bent arms and considered seam placement make for a comfortable paddling posture, comfortable for both canoeing and kayaking.
A twin waist has a drawcord outer layer, and an elastic hem on the thinner inside material, a great solution for overlapping to provide a dry paddling experience. It can also be utilised with a spraydeck waist tube to minimise water ingress, or pair with a dry trousers to make an easy to get on two-piece suit.
With a fleece lined double collar and offset zip the Chinook is a comfortable, warm and easy to vent for nicer weather, while latex wrist gaskets prevent water dripping up the wearer's sleeve, even if waves break on your hand. An oversized volume adjustable hood offers some protection from the elements and can be worn over the helmet. Although without being limited, in better conditions the hood can be fully removed.
The Chinook can be packed down to a small size, making it perfect for storing in a hatch and having it relatively close to hand should the conditions change. Alternatively you can always stow it under bungees on the deck to keep it even closer and not needing to open the boat up to swells.
Available in a range of sizes the Chinook Womens is a great jacket for touring, sea kayaking and canoeing. Offering great weatherproofing without compromising on features.
