Swift Canoes Cruiser 12.8

The Swift Canoes Cruiser 12.8 is a super lightweight Pack Boat ideal for paddlers looking for a comfortable, efficient touring boat. This Cruiser Pack Boat blends the comfort of a supportive and adjustable kayak seat with the ease of getting in & loading up a spacious open canoe hull. It also offers the ability to paddle either with a single blade open canoe paddle or a more efficient double bladed kayak paddle which really does make the most of the Cruisers hull shape. 

The sleek entry line to the bow of the Cruiser cuts through the water with ease while the slightly elongated stern acts like a skeg to ensure the Cruiser not only holds a line but can be used to cover some distance quickly or like its name just Cruise. 

The seat has been designed with a Carbon Fibre seat base to keep everything as light as possible, medical grade foam cushioning, a movable lumbar support cushion and an adjustable back rest that thanks to the way Swift have cleverly run the back strap will rotate with the paddlers stroke allowing a free feeling with every paddle stroke. Adjustable footpegs ensure the paddler can brace in the Cruiser and really power on if they want to use the Swift Cruiser 12.8 as a training Pack Boat. To give a brilliant look to the rest of the outfitting Swift use an oiled cherry wood for both the thwarts as well as the bow & stern carry handles. 

The hull of the Cruiser 12.8 is the lightweight Kevlar Fusion construction which offers the best strength to weight ration in the Swift Canoes laminates range. This consists of of a urethane resin system along with a layer of exterior UV shield. Then an exterior layer of polyester with S-Glass and Kevlar cloth layers which sandwich a foam core ribbing system. This laminate is then fused together with high impact, flexible urethane acrylate resin that is injected during high pressure infusion process to give optimal dispersion as well as a laminate consistency. The Carbon Kevlar gunwales (trim) have a foam core and are integrated into the moulding process to ensure a strong bond between the hull and the gunwales it also helps to increases the hull stiffness.
