Its tough and rigid hull construction and good manouevrability makes it a great choice for extended rock-hopping trips and its multi-hatch design along with a recess to take the optional SILVA 70P Compass makes it a great choice for long day trips or multi-day expedition trips.

There are two large oval hatches along with a smaller circular 'day hatch' conveniently located within reach just behind the cockpit. This design provides three watertight storage chambers with the day hatch being suited to carrying any kit you might need while on the water. In front of the cockpit are bungee decklines for on-deck storage of charts and other essential items or you could add one of the North Water deck bags if you want to carry more kit such as cameras and snacks. Another option would be to add some North Water Paddle Britches right up front for carrying spare split paddles. Bungees behind the cockpit are ideal for carrying a paddle float to assist with self rescues.

The Atlantic RM has a Keyhole Cockpit with adjustable thigh brace pads and the seating has a comfortable base with hip pads and an adjustable back strap. The Rotomoulded Atlantics have a composite tube that runs the 3/4 length on the hull. This tube is pre-bent, so when it is placed into the hull, and sealed bulkheads and seat are fitted, it keeps the hull more rigid than many standard single skin touring and sea kayaks. Another great design feature is the bulkheads. Normally bulkheads are made from Mini Cell foam whic is siliconed in place, however North Shore use rotomoulded bulkheads fixed in by bolts as well as being siliconed in. This means that they provide additional structural support rather like a composite bulkhead would.
