The Valley Sirona is aimed at paddlers who are progressing into sea kayaking and those who want a do-it-all sea kayak for day trips, weekend expeditions, rock hopping and ocean play. The RM version features all the same design features found in the composite Sirona but in a more durable and impact resistant triple-layer polyethylene shell which is better for those wanting to play in rock gardens or land on gravel or stone beaches.

The rockered hull shape provides excellent manoeuvrability and makes this a very agile craft so ideal for surfing or exploring coastal gullies and rocky shorelines. having said that this kayak still has a decent waterline with both models being around 16 foot long so it is not difficult to get it tracking in a straight line and in windy or choppy conditions the retractable skeg will lock you in if you are paddling to a bearing. The hull also responds predictably to edging and has a stability profile that allows less experienced paddlers to progress their skill level.

Four hatches feature on the boat, including the convenient small deck hatch mounted in front of the cockpit for storing those on the water essentials. There is a reachable day hatch behind the cockpit and plenty of space in the fore and aft compartments to load up for a weekend mini-expedition.

If your paddling mostly consists of regular day paddles, the odd overnighter and only the very rare possibility of anything longer then the Sirona is a great choice.
